Fort Frances

(in Canada > Ontario)
Untitled

I walked into Fort Frances from International Falls in summer 2003 with my boyfriend at the time. We didn’t realize you had to stop and talk to anyone if you were just walking in and we somehow got across the border without getting noticed but when we walked back across into the US, they detained us for a REALLY long time, asking tons of questions about who we were. It felt like we were terrorists :)

The only thing I really saw in Fort Frances was a paper mill (I think that’s what it was?) and a big sign reading “Welcome to Canada” in English and French.

Children's Museum Of Indianapolis

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I think I was 16 the first time I ever went to the Children’s Museum. My great aunt took me and my mom and I loved it. Easily one of the best museums I’ve ever stepped foot in and I’ve been to a lot of museums.

It’s true though—doesn’t matter if you’re a kid or an adult, there’s something for everyone and there are a lot of cool hands-on things.

Johnson City

Why I want to go to this place

I don’t know anything about Johnson City but every time I have ever driven through NC on I-26 or I-40, I have seen a sign for this town and it sort of tugs me towards it, almost to the point where I want to keep driving there.

Maybe one day I will find my fate there.

Mount Pisgah

Worth visiting!

This is the first mountain I ever climbed. It was really cloudy out both times I went but I really enjoyed it!

Discovery Museum

Worth visiting!

A review of this place

One of the coolest museums I’ve ever been to.

My 5th grade honors science class went with several other schools from around the nation to this overnight thing they did. Even though there were probably over a thousand kids there, you got to do all sorts of cool activities. They had a pinhole photography thing where you got to make your own camera and take pictures and then a lifelike space station simulator where you and a team of other kids were assigned jobs like on an actual spacecraft and you performed them. I don’t really remember what else we did since it was a while ago, but it was fantastic.

Myrtle Beach

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I used to live in Myrtle Beach. I would never recommend living there, but you HAVE to visit. It’s tacky and horrible but funny and… well.. if you know where you’re going, fun.

Washington, D.C.

Worth visiting!

So much to see here, so little time to do it :)

The Smithsonian was probably my favorite memory from when I visited.

Harbison State Forest

I can’t stand this place :(

I first volunteered here my freshman year of college, then I ended up working here.

The trails are better than most other places nearby, but overall, it’s way too crowded. Every time I’ve been there on the weekend, there are people everywhere on the trails, not very peaceful at all.

St. Cloud

Not worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I was in a long-distance relationship with a guy who lived (lives? I don’t talk to him anymore) here. Visited this town a few times… aside from the people that live here, it was nothing that memorable. Very clean city, but boring nonetheless.

Columbia

A review of this place: Pretty gross

An okay city, but too much crime, not enough to do, not really urban yet not really nature-y :( It has its fair share of cool stuff from time to time but you really have to look for it.

A tip to any woman living here: learn self-defense.
