Scott Memorial Fountain

Worth visiting!

Memories

When I was little, my dad used to take my mom and I for a drive at night around Belle Isle, and I remember going by the fountain and seeing the lights there.

Once when I was in my teens, I went back with my friends, and everyone got IN the fountain (I don’t think they allow that . . .)

Memories.

Haven’t been back in like 20 years—-wonder if it’s still the same?

Not worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Upon dropping, it felt like something-my ovaries?- flew up . . . like sticking out of my ears, perhaps? A horrifying thing to do to oneself!

A review of this place: Nice, upscale

This is a great place to just hang out. More chic than I had expected, and had quite an “international” feel to it.

Kuybyshev Market

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I loved this place. We stayed just a few blocks from it, and went pretty much every day during our stay. Outside, there are “babushkas” selling flowers, shawls, gigantic rat traps, juice – you name it! There are loads of vegetable stands outside, and inside you’ll find fish, salads, candy, meat, tea, and basically a whole new world! The vendors are eager to let you taste things, too.

How this place changed my life

I went on my first missions trip to the Crimean Peninsula. I wasn’t that interested in going to Ukraine, but I must say that I fell in love with the place and the people. I am now praying daily to go to the mission field on a more permanent basis, to Simferopol or wherever the Lord leads.
