Galaxy Drive-in Theatre, Garrett

One of the few drive-ins left in America...

I hadn’t been to a drive-in since…well…since forever. I was just a kid when my parents took me to see Dumbo at a drive-in theater in Denver, Colorado.

The Galaxy is a great place to take the family for a night of movies and fun. The show starts at 8 p.m. – or a little later depending on the line of cars left to get in. Gates open at 6:30 and it’s a good idea to get there early…the line grows exponentially after that. There is a miniature golf course there to keep you entertained while you wait for your movie to start.

The Galaxy is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year. They close for Christmas. They do close for inclement weather. Rain doesn’t stop them, but dangerous wind and lightening do. All their lineups are double features.

The speakers aren’t the best, but they do broadcast the soundtrack and they’ll tell you what frequency to tune your radio in to.

We took our lawn chairs and kicked back. When it became too cold, we moved into the car and turned on the radio.

A great experience!! My kids were amazed!

The North Pole, Pikes Peak

Went there when I was a kid...

And then took my daughter there when she was young. It’s at the base of Pike’s Peak. Little park for kiddos. Visit Santa, ride the rides, go down the spiral candy cane slide, and more!

San Antonio, Bexar County

Family vacation...

So much to do, so little time. We saw the Alamo. We stayed at the Crockett hotel, where you can see the grounds at the Alamo from the roof. We went to Seaworld, we did the haunted tour, visited the riverwalk, and soooo much more. It was fun!
