France, Europe

The land of art… the land of love… the land of fashion…

Recently my mother made a trip to France during which she spent most of her time in a beautiful old castle in the countryside, rich with history and charm. She was only able to spend a day in Paris, but the things she has told me has given me the burning desire to visit.

Everything there sounds to quaint, and beautiful.

I am hopeing to make a trip there this summer… but it hardly seems possible at this point.

There’s always hope!

Egypt, Africa

Untitled

I was schooled at home for many years of my life. When I was twelve my family studied ancient Egypt for a large portion of the school year.

I found the subject enthralling.

I was enraptured with the ideas of ancient pharaohs, “gods” so obsessed with power and riches that they had themselves buried with it. My imagination was inspired by the hidden tombs and secret treasures.

The mysterious lives that people lived. The powerful architecture, and cracked

The dusty yellow statues, buried in the sands… whose lifeless eyes saw so many lifetimes, but whose mouth will never speak its knowledge.

I would love to go to Egypt, I want to watch the late sun glimmer on the pyramids, and feel the hot sand. I want to immerse myself in the land for just a little while, and try to see the world as it once was.
