Charles Stricklin

I’ve lived most of my life in Shreveport. I’ve driven every little back road and bayou there is in this state. The politics stink but the food makes it all worth it!

I lived in Dallas for a year (1987) and I’d move back there in a heartbeat. I love all of Texas, even the area out toward Amarillo and Lubbock.

As a teenager, I went to a Southern Baptist Conference center at Glorieta, and I still remember how beautiful the country was.

I have home movies of driving through Las Vegas and over the Hoover Dam, so I know I’ve been here, but I don’t remember anything about it.

One of these days I’ll go back if for no other reason than to see some of the great shows.

As a teenager, my family went to Panama City to visit my Uncle, Aunt and cousins. While there, I traveled through the canal on a freighter, flew over the length of it and drove back along side it.

The ship I was a sailor on was homeported out of Pearl Harbor, so I got to know Honolulu, Waikiki, and Pearl City very well. I also spent some time on the North Shore as well as the Big Island (Hawai’i), Maui and Kauai.
