Palmer Creek Tarns

Worth visiting!

Palmer Creek, Hope

Just got back from the tarns at the head waters of Palmer Creek. It was a gorgeous hot Alaskan weekend (in the 80’s) and we cooked! Much hiking and then blueberry picking today.

Lost Lake

Worth visiting!

Go take a hike.

Lost Lake traverse, south end of Kenai Lake, off the Seward Highway at Primrose Campground and boat launch. 15 ish miles of some of the best and most beautiful trail I’ve ever hiked. Nice alpine camping and wandering after the first 5 miles up and in. Saw very few other people, lots of wildflowers and a fox.

Cozumel

Worth visiting!

Stay off the scooters unless you know what you are doing!

Was in Cozumel in Janurary, nice break from the weather here. Crashed on a scooter (blame the husband as he was driving), that sort of put a hold on things. Two things: Don’t rent a scooter, if you must rent a scooter, get the insurance. We only ended up paying about 20$’s more than the deductable on the insurance anyway, so we lucked out (what with not having it and all). But, it could have been a lot worse.
One bad case of road rash, one luxated left wrist and one bill for $535.00 later…..
We did get to go diving once (having blown our wad on the wreck), and it was incredible. You MUST dive if you go to Cozumel.

Oregon

Worth visiting!

10 acres in Oregon

A year ago my mother purchased 10 acres of lovely farmland in oregon, near Roseburg. I went down there with her and my grandmother for Mothers Day this spring. We stayed for a week and tended the orchard, tracked a spring that the property has old rights to and figured out where to build her house. She’s trying to talk me into relocating there after she goes down permanently next summer. I liked it enough that I am seriously considering it. There are several very nice hospitals in the area where I could probably find work and the country is beautiful. Plus, all those vineyards and wineries. :)
Then I would just have to talk the husband into it too….
