Blackpool has lost it’s pride. It is tatty, unkempt, uncouth, loud, dirty, full of drunks, and not a good place to be. Blackpool is the place to visit on a hen night or a stag night – get drunk and throw up in the street, take a leak on the corner or smash a window or scratch a car. Blackpool used to be a proud place – but no more. Things have gone too far over the line and will cost too much to rebuild. Shame but true

...was on our honeymoon. The second time was for my wife’s birthday 3 years later. Amazing. Breathtaking. Relaxing. All the adjectives that people use are true. Please add it to your list and go. But don’t go to the east side of the island – save up and splash out and stay on the west side – the caldera. Waking up to the view of the volcano each morning, sitting on the balcony in the evening watching the sun set and the boats just can’t be beaten. If you have an ounce of romance in you find someone to go with and just GO.
