I recommend a daytrip to Palermo, but all in all I found the city dirty and run down. There are (would be…) amazing buildings and monuments but all around them it’s a disaster. Maybe I had high expectations… I don’t know. I found the food amazing, the people kind and friendly, but I cannot say that I thought that Palermo is a beautiful city. If anything, a city with some beautiful stuff. Worth a visit, for sure, but don’t expect a “nice” city. It’s pretty rough.

Pisa is much more than the leaning tower… it is a beautiful medieval city which has nothing to envy to the other Tuscan cities. Just avoid spending the whole time in the Field of Miracles!!! That is the only tourist trap. Walk in the city centre: it is beautiful!!! Enjoy Piazza dei Cavalieri, Borgo Stretto, Corso Italia!!! And the great icecream of La Bottega del Gelato!
