For the most beautiful view of the city, go up to the church that is perched upon the very top of the hill in Marseille. There are lots of vantage points with spectacular views of the bay, surrounding city, and distant countryside.

The beaches are great, as is the city of Aix. Avignon is interesting, but a bit enclosed and claustrophobic.

If you’re planning on going up, go up just before dusk. This way, you get the daytime view, the sunset, and, if you stay long enough, the city-lights-at-night view.

I loved everything about France both times I went.

Within Paris, my favorite district is definetely Monmartre. If you are planning on traveling here, make sure to get a metro pass, as it is invaluable.

My favorite movie is Amelie. If you have seen this, visiting the places within Paris that are seen in the movie is quite easy. I actually had creme brulee at the cafe she works at. It was great.

One of my favorite places in France is a little beach town called La Ciotat on the Southern coast. It is incredibly beautiful and a wonderful place to lounge around on the beach and go out on a boat. The water is amazingly clear, so snokeling is lots of fun.
