I am Norweigian by heritage, and I have always wanted to go to visit Norway because of this. Supposedly, there is a town there that whose name is the same as my last name, and that is one place that is especially important to me to see.

close proximity

Because I live in Washington State, and am so close to Canada, I have been there several (many?) times, mainly to Vancouver and Victoria. I love the mountains surounding Vancouver, they are so beautiful! They can be seen from quite far away and are truly breathtaking.

I went to Turkey in the summer of 2004 as part of a trip to Greece. I loved this country, it seemed so different and exotic, a bridge between the Western and Eastern worlds (literally!!). Istanbul is breathtaking, the Blue Mosque and Hayia Sophia are beautiful. I also went to the ruins of Ephessus, which was an increadible insight into the past. Turkey is most definately a destination worth visiting!
