Melaka

Worth visiting!

Were history has been made

Melaka has its beauty that no one can take away from her. The colonial sites as well as the chinatown are well worth a visit. Malaysian cities in general has limited history inside their walls but this one makes is up for everything.

Stadthus, the orange/red Dutch complex with a large museum is well worth visiting as well as the old fort. A big department store has been built on a man made island so the cannons would be of no use today as they don’t face the waters.

Its seems as almost all colonial states has been here. The dutch, portoguise, english and japanese has had their time in the most important city Malaysia ever produced. Kuala Lumpur has for an instance very limited history to tell and as this is just some hour away with a bus from the capital, be sure to make this a priority on your iternary.

Pulau Perhentian

Worth visiting!

Paradise in a little box

The beach is quite a story and offers everything that you want from a worldclass without to many tourists disturbing your peace. This is not a place were you party alot, for that you can find better ones in Thailand or so. This is a place were you wander into yourself and enjoy a truly paradise experience.

The food are so so, and the accomondation is not really top class, but thats alright as the atmosphere is calm and friendly. Don’t miss out the snorkelling tours were you can swim with thousands of colorful fishes, best place so far in Malaysia for doing that even if the corals has been seen better at other places.

If you only can afford one island in Malaysia, Perhentian would be it.

Kuching

Worth visiting!

Maybe Malaysias best kept secret

Well, well. Kuching is not famous for the general public in Europe and that is a luck for us who has been there and wants to go again. The city is probably my favorite of all places in Malaysia as it is very beautiful and nice to wander around in.

As Kuching means Cat can be seen by number of statues and other landmarks. The city has a very pleasant riveria looking riverside with park, restaurants and hotels filling up the evening stroll with a smile on our faces.

The museum in the city is Asia’s best looking one and nearby the city there are a number of national parks that make you be one with nature.

Near the city is also the recreation area of Santobong that has beach and resort life. There is also a camp where you can rent cabbins up in the trees.

If you only going to goto one city in Borneo, better aim on this one. Malaysias best kept secret is ready for the attention.
