hahaha i live here. it’s my FAVORITE place on EARTH aside from Israel, in my opinion. If you get a chance to go to the history museum, do so. Also, watch a pirates game! they suck, but they play for fun, not for money. same w/ teh penguins. home is home :D

HaKotel (the Western Wall)

This wall is the only remnant of thousands of years of Jewish and Middle Eastern History. Personally, i am a jew and i’ve studied extensively on the subject. the first time i got there, though, it was virtually empty and generally unemotional, surprisingly. I went back again during Simcha Torah (celebration of G-d giving us the Torah). That was when i cried. The emotion isn’t just in the place, it’s in its people. i joined a bunch of Yeshiva guys in dancing all the way from the synagogue to the Kotel. They accepted me, not as an American, but as a fellow person. I wasn’t wearing a kippah, so they had no idea i was jewish. this is where the spirit of G-d really is. it’s in the hearts of the thousands of residents of Jerusalem (Israeli and Palestinian alike) who truly, with all of their hearts, love this city. I hope that every one of us can make it there someday to experience what i did.
