The quiet county seat for Grays Harbor. Several nice churches, good parks, and a decent family owned Mexican restaurant and Thriftway as well as a local museum.

It rains a lot in Montesano and all of Grays Harbor. Supposedly the county and harbor was named after the discoverer, but locals know that it is self descriptive. It’s always gray.

A festive neighborhood restaurant, a little pricey but with good salsa.

Geraldine’s has great service and food geared for breakfast. The sandwiches are made on bread from the bakery across the street and the food is fresh. Figure on $10/person tab. Service is WOWing.

This place is always packed. The food is good, but twice the staff has lost the order and we’ve waited a long time (over 30 min.) for a pizza. Fortunately, they gave us a coupon for a free pizza on the next visit.

You should try the Wellington and Geraldine’s when you are in Columbia City.
