Charmouth, Dorset

I love Charmouth because...

Even though its a tiny place, its got so much to do their that I enjoy! Theres the street with a couple of newsagents, one tourist-type shop and a paint your own pottery shop, which is so cool! Me and my family have been camping in Dorset for all of my life, and there are two caravan/tent/chalet parks which are in charmouth.

I love the river, which leads right in to the sea! And there is an area of grass to sit on by the river with picnic benches. Going in the river in a dinghy is a must! Theres also the beach next to the area of grass and river, (although be warned, there are restricted times for dogs), which has a cafe right on the beach. There is also a walk which takes you up on to the cliffs next to the beach, although they are crumbling away.

On the otherside of the river is another beach, which, if you carry on walking, takes you to Lyme Regis. However, I do NOT recommend this as the tides come in to that cove quickly, and you are at risk of being cut off! There is also another little cafe there, which sell delicious ice creams!

If none of that makes you wnt to go there, all I can say is “Go anyway!” There is just something about that place, and so many memories there, its just brilliant!!

Oxford, Oxfordshire

Untitled

I luv this place so much!! I live just a few of miles from Oxford and have done since I was born (16 years ago!). There is so many things that I recommend doing! Obviously, the universities and museums are excellent, and a good way to get a feel for the place is to hop on a tour bus (I think its called the Oxford story). There are many parks around Oxfordshire, and University Parks is worth a visit! Its a great way to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

If your coming here around the end of August/beginning of september, I would recommend St Giles Fair!! I know it doesnt seem like a very touristy thing to do, but this fair has been coming to Oxford for years!! (approx year the fair started: 1800)

One of the things that makes me feel so connected with this beautiful city is Philip Pulmans trilogy of books entitled: his dark materials, which is set in Oxford. I recommend them, and this great city!!!
