Honolulu

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I was only there for 24 hours, but still really loved it. Staying for free at the Outrigger didn’t hurt I am sure. I want to go back and explore both Honolulu and O’ahu more.

We ate at a great Italian restaurant called Arancino. Best Italian I have had in the States. The pizza was true Italian style: Crispy yet doughy.

San Diego

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

I went last week-end to have breakfast with Krini at Park House Eatery

It was a lot of firsts for me:
Rasberry Mimosas
San Diego
Blue Corn Meal Pancakes
Convertible Mustang
Seing Hollywould Shoes at Nordstrom Rack (I resisted)

San Diego is beautiful and Krini says the cops indeed are “America’s Finest!”

Parkhouse Eatery

The last time I went to this place

I loved my Parkhouse Eatery experience. It has a great setting in an old house and you can sit inside or outside.

Service and food was great. If you are looking for a good local breakfast this place is it!

Saladang Song

Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

Was a couple of hours ago. Sitio recommended it and was very right: awesome Thai food. Entres range from $7 to $18. The space is open and have beautiful orchids all around to look at. As I am 10 minutes away, I can see this becoming a place I will frequent often.

We tried the red curry, phad thai, and soft shelled crabs. I’m not so much into eating crab shell, but the meat and the asparagus was yummi in my tummy. It all was!

Krini and Breakfast

Krini suggested it, and it was really great. Fab service, a mountain of good hash browns, and free-flowing coffee = really all a good breakfast needs…

Olvera Street

A Nice Afternoon

Olvera Street is a great way to get out of the hustle and bustle and quite a nic nac heaven!

We made the mistake of eating at one of the restaurants, because we weren’t aware of the booths serving food further down. The food at the restaurant was expensive ($13 a plate and no free refill on coke) and very mediocre. We had two kids with us and their taquitos literally tasted like burnt plastic. The restaurant was nice about it and comp’d us, but next time we will go for the $2 taco like we had planned.

Pirahna Killer Sushi

Yum

Get the boat. The chef picks what you get, and you can get it for how ever many people you want.

I never eat that much sushi, but here I finish my plate. It’s out of control good!

Big Sur

2 requirements

I drove through there on HW1, and I want to go back and stay:
I want to go camping there.
I don’t want to go alone, unless I really need alone time.

Brain Radiation

My good friend and mentor, Mark G, is in Boston right now for Brain Radiation Therapy (sure it is called something different) to fry his brian tumor. The treatment is only available 3 places in the world. After he got his insurance to cover it, he talked me into visiting Boston some day. And I will, because it’s where someone important got better :)

Lake Quinault Lodge

Perfect

I just went there for a wedding. It started raining, but they continiued on with the ceremony, which was perfect. It was very beautiful there. A lot of people camped there, the stars were to die for and we saw Northern Lights. It was what a wedding is supposed to be!
Across the street they have great little ham and eggs muffins, which are great for after wedding hang-overs.
