The whole Smithsonian experience is an incredible educational exersice. Take your time, pace yourself and do some research before you go, i.e. if you going to the Aeronautics museum, plan the whole day there and read up on air & space. Do the same for the other museums.
A week in DC should do it … go to M street to wind down at night :-)

It is the capital of tacky lovers paradise … might as well go to Vegas.

People use gravel for their “garden”. It’s dry, it’s hot, it’s bare, there is nothing to do .. yet, it beats Ciudad Juarez “next door” ... I’m always glad to be back on “this side” everytime I go.
I do love the steaks and the football size salad bar at Cattle Baron’s, and even if it is 115 degrees outside, you won’t sweat a drop.

It use to be such a nice beautiful city, but now it is a dump. Chanty towns all over the mountains that surround this valley, all the houses and the buildings are ugly and dirty graffitti covered eye sores that look like little maximum security jails since they are surrounded by tall walls and fences with razor wire and electric wires on top. Horrendous traffic with dirty, banged-up, smoke spewing cars and no respect for traffic laws or just plain old civility. There is motorcycle riding, machine gun carrying, flak jacket wearing cops all over that do nothing. All women dress like skanks, but only about a third pull it off; the rest should wear a sack of potatoes and a paper bag over their face. All the men wear jeans and a plain shirt or a tacky T-shirt. The only reason the city is not choking with smog is because it is filled with beatiful green trees, that somehow survive despite the neglect, and that is bordered by a tall lush green mountain that makes the National Park El Avila.

Crappy Zoo. Mitchel airport is crappy too. The Miller Brewing tour is not very good: they have a nice welcome center and the tour end is at this neat underground bar, but they don’t let you stay long and only give you two tiny beers after making you walk and climb stairs for what seems like a mile. Miller Park is OK, but if they are playing Chicago, there is more Chicagoans than Milwaukee fans. The fact that Harley Davidson is in town doesn’t really add any character to the city. Marquette U. is just a bunch of buildings: no campus or green. Downtown is a mess with construction and the whole town feels like a giant truck stop with roads going everywhere. And what’s with the Custard places: there seems to be one in every corner, and is it me or does in rain every day?

Best Mexican Restaurant in Tampa Bay: Casa Tina’s. Several interesting antique and art stores. Cute town, several art festivals, Highland Festival. Overall nice town.

El Viejo San Juan, El Yunque and Fallardo are pretty cool. I still need to make it to Rincon, Vieques and La Mona islands

People are nice, but not warm.

Berlin is gorgeous. Munich is fun. Hamburg is a dump, but the Red light district is decadent. Ther rest of the country is nice.

The Ozarks are nice, but that’s it.
