Spice of Life

RIT offers such a variety of majors – photography, jewelry making, business, mechanical engineering, IT, computer science, pre-Med, deaf studies… – that the community is full of interesting people and activities. It is close to a mid-size city that has professional theater, soccer, orchestra, and a range of complementary colleges. With approximately 15,000 students at all levels, it is large enough to be a university (with a draw for national speakers and acts) and small enough to get to know well. If you are looking for HUGE or intimate campus, RIT is not for you.

It is located in the Northeast with all the pluses and minuses of the range of weather patterns. Some snow, but not a lot.

It runs on a quarter system so if you plan to visit know that the place is a ghost town (student-wise) in late November, late February, early June, and late August.
