I’ve been to Budapest about 3 times and I’m always struck by the contrast between the beauty of much of the architecture (castle district, parliament, Gellert Hill, etc.) and the massive communitst-era apartment blocks. All the same, it’s definitely worth a visit.

I was in Barcelona a few years ago. The best breakfast (and coffee) I’ve had in Europe. Also, the famous football stadium is worth seeing. Seats 100k people.
Girona is about an hour north. Another beautiful place to visit. Smaller and less touristy than Barcelona, but absolutely beautiful.
over 5 years agoRome is one of the first places that my wife and I are looking forward to visiting once we move back to Europe. The ancient history and culture is mindblowing! (Or so i’ve been told by friends who’ve gone.) Seeing other European cultures is a easy when you live there. Budget airlines like RyanAir, EasyJet, and German Wings make it really affordable, not to mention enticing. (Don’t expect the luxuries and comforts of standard airlines, though.) Even if you don’t live there, you can find good deals on flights and holiday packages if you shop around a little bit. It’s worth your while.
