Take it from me...
I’m half-Hungarian, born in Kolozsvar city (now inside Romanian terriotry), but I grew up in Montreal Canada. I travel to Hungary every chance I get, to see my mother’s family. I’m going to be able to go again this September. Let me just say that Hungary is absolutely worth it, no matter which area you end up visiting. Budapest is only the beginning. For a real treat, travel down to Eger for natural Roman bath houses, or to visist historical castles and fortresses. You absolutely have to check out the wine country and sample the local world-famous vintages, while tasting the best cooking in the universe, and listening to heart-breakingly beautiful folkloric music.
