Perhaps there are reasons to go . . .

On December 31,2005 my grandfather passed away. We had the funeral in Idaho Falls, where he lived, and then he was burried in Preston. The Preston cemetary is full of my family. My great grandfather had 13 children and most of them now are burried in the little Preston cemetary.

The thing is, it was the first time that all of Clifford’s grandchildren have been together. And I was so grateful for that. I’m not exactly close to any of them and now I regret that. A couple of them are cut from the same cloth that I am and getting reacquainted was wonderful. And to have the opportunity to be there for my grandmother and for my dad was really a blessing.

I’ll probably go to Preston again – - to see the stones.

Not to be missed under any circumstances.

Idaho Falls

Worth visiting!

It's my home town. I rarely go back. I guess I

kind of hate it but it was a great place to be a kid in the 70s. I have to go back tomorrow for my grandfather’s funeral.

Fewer and fewer reasons to go there . . . Just a bunch of stones to visit.

But it was a beautiful childhood and I’m grateful for it.

Apparently it’s also the name of a band now – - I have to check them out.

unless you have family there. But there’s good skiing not too far south in Utah and it isn’t too far from Yellowstone Nt’l Park. Fine, we’ll stop for lunch on our way through.

Liberal Social Artistic Community Action Coffee

In the morning it’s full of suits – doctors, lawyers, I’ve even gotten up early enough to see the prosecuting attorney who sent me to prison on my birthday there. But after the morning rush, and particularly in the afternoon, it’s full of students, artists, communitarians. That’s when it feels like homw to me. I can get a hug from the yoga instructor working in the gift shop, recharge my body with a mocha latte (whole milk please), an orange-ginger cookie, and if I’ve been particularly good, a treat from the Art-O-Mat.
