There is no dirt road which leads to this place, it is entirely paved to the historical site.

A wonderful step back into the historical town which was, in 1868, the largest centre of population west of Chicago and north of San Francisco.

A wonderful town with fantastic architecture and a walking tour of the buildings used in the movie “Roxanne”.

It’s a lovely little town and a great place to make visits in the area including Nelson, Usk, and the ferry which has a fifty (50) minute run from the north end of the lake down close to Nelson on the other side and to the south. Excellent stuff.

Some of the best late-Victorian architecture you’ll find in the general area. Well worth taking the guided tour in order to hear the history of the construction of the building, as well as an explanation of the Provincial British Parliamentary System.

Wonderful place and a delightful piece of architecture.

There’s oodles of great little places to shop if you feel like poking around for hours. Tons of great architecture as well, if you like the very late 1800s and early 1900s.

I spent a full summer living here while working during the day at the Barkerville Historical Site. Wonderful area for fishing, hiking, canoeing, and just generally enjoying nature and/or people.

the closest I got to checking this place out was the window of my hotel room nearby. Well, and then there was the point that I almost drove onto the inner grounds of the castle while attempting to move the car from the hotel to the car-park without having to drive around much of the city centre in the process… don’t recommend that one, best to go in the front on foot like everyone else.

It was the day after the Federal Election and the staff was very helpful providing all the information you could possibly want.
