New York City

Worth visiting!

First Time!

I just returned from my first trip to NYC. I went with my girl scout trip for about a week. We saw so much and slept so little. We stayed in a youth hostel. We saw the U.N., the Met, NYU (my first college tour!), the Museum of Natural History, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, MoMA, NBC Studios, Greenwich Village, and a helluva lot more. I love New York City, it’s one of the most amazing places on the planet. It was an incredible week, and I can’t wait to go back!

Tennessee

Worth visiting!

Well...

I live here! There’s a beautiful national park over in the east, but here in West Tennessee, your main attraction is Memphis and the “rivah.” Go to Memphis, but stay away from Graceland.

Rennes-le-Château

Worth visiting!

Untitled

While staying in Cascastel, my aunt, cousins, other family, and myself took a side trip to Rennes-le-Chateau. The drive was long, but well worth it. It’s a rather quiet place; we didn’t see many people. We walked through the village and through the church. All in all, it was an eerie site. Inside the Chruch of Mary Magdeline is a statue of the devil holding several angels above his head that was particularly… interesting.

I was the only one who went through the museum. Everything was either in French or English and histories of the area were given.

I enjoyed the trip, but I did find the place unsettling. A must see if you’re in the area, though.

Yay Mormons. All I have to say. Though… I would like to see the Red Rocks. Mm-hm. All I saw was Salt Lake City; I was very young. I remember it snowed.

Antarctica

Why I want to go to this place

A few years ago I stumbled on a group that trekked through Antarctica. It was so exhilirating to see people doing such a fantastic thing. I want to be a part of that. I want feel the freezing cold and wish that I had a thicker coat. To hate to pee. Etc. I just want that experience. Badly. I’m taking my first trek next summer, and I hope it will be the first of many throughout the course of my life.

France

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I recently spent a month en le pays de France-my first time abroad. France is byfar the most beautiful place I have ever visited. Normandy is incredible, and the crosses of the American cemetary are very moving. Paris, as touristy and dirty as it is, is wonderful, a must see. I loved the cute little shops on the side streets. With a Frommer’s guide in hand, I saw much more than the tourist traps. I definitely reccomend wandering, with a map of course. The little villages of the South are adorable, particularly in the Corbieres region. Rent a house and spend some time on the Mediterranean. Learn a great deal of French before you go, though. Few people in these adorable little villages speak English. So knowing more than “Merci” is a lifesaver. Needless to say, I cannot wait to go back. I am seriously looking into attending uni there-I’m that in love.
