Technically, I've driven through it.
But it’s worth it even if for nothing else than the spectacle that is South of the Border (located, surprisingly enough, just south of the North Carolina border on I-95). I think it can safely be said that South of the Border has the largest neon sombrero in all of South Carolina. Just follow the trail of horribly punny billboards – you can’t miss it. And if you do, there’ll be another billboard: “Stop! You missed it!”
I hear the rest of South Carolina is very nice and far less cheesy.
