I remember as a kid getting the special treat of visiting McDonald’s and then having the awesome tasks of climbing all those stairs to see the lion.

As a field trip, the American Elementary School took us to Antwerp to the zoo. At the time, if I remember correctly, there was construction going on, I believe it might have been on a church or something like that.

I lived in Belgium for three years back in the late eighties. I loved it. When my dad’s tour was up, I didn’t want to leave.

My dad was stationed on Ft. Riley a while back (83-87). One of the things I remember were the buffalo located on the fort. Another thing I remember is my dad dragging us to the field so we could appreciate all the hard work his soldiers did. I was 5.

I spent the past eleven years living in Amarillo. I hated every minute of it. The only bright spot was hockey.
