Playa Del Carmen

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I LOVE LOVE LOVED Playa del Carmen. If I ever go back to Mexico, this is where I want to go. I didn’t get to spend much time in Playa del Carmen, but I had a blast. Lots of wonderful shops, great atmosphere, beautiful beach…go to Playa del Carmen if you can!

Cancún

Not worth visiting!

A review of this place: Not Impressed

Of all of the places I visited in Mexico, Cancun was definetely my least favorite. It was actually fairly boring there. I think mostly this had to do with the fact that a) there is nothing to do in Cancun unless you are willing to travel a distance and b) I don’t drink, so therefore, I don’t have the “fun” that others have. While the beach is beautiful, we couldn’t even go swimming. My hotel was full of drunken college kids on Spring Break (as a future college kid, I must say I was ashamed on their behalf). My recommendation is to go to Playa del Carmen instead. Not full of drunk people, lots of fun shops and things to do, and a lovely atmosphere.

Teotihuacán

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I went to Mexico on a school trip, and when we came to Teotihuacan, I thought the pyramids were so marvelously beautiful. After taking about 5 billion pictures, all my friends wanted to climb the pyramids. I was very, very reluctant to do this. I had a crippling fear of heights, and I could barely climb trees back home, let alone a gigantic pyramid in Mexico. However, my friends kept urging me to climb the steps, and suddenly I decided: I did not come all the way to Mexico to chicken out! If I didn’t do this, I would regret it. So, long story short, I climbed the steps all the way to the top. I was scared out of my mind, but it was worth it in the end. I can now say proudly that I climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun in Mexico! (I only climbed partways up the Pyramid of the Moon, as it was SUPER crowded!)
