I was camping about 50 miles from Taos when I suddenly got very sick. My mom had to drive me to Taos to get my appendix removed! My one and only emergency room trip. I had appendicitis and a respiratory infection.

Thank goodness they had an ER!

I came back from the train ride covered in Coal and Soot. Chunks of coal were washing out of my hair for days!

I grew up in Belen, the people are friendly. It’s stupid hot year round. Go for the Farmer’s Markets in July-August every Friday afternoon. My sister runs the market and sells homemade jams and produce.

Bring plenty of water and expect to climb!

Get the Sweet Rolls! Orange juice if it’s warm or cider if it’s cold. Yummmmm

One of my favorite places on earth! So beautiful!

The South of France is absolutely stunning. If you can go, do it. It’s especially perfect in early April, if you appreciate rain that is!
