I did the Madre Springs / White Mountain loop at this place over Thanksgiving 07. Turtlehead Peak was visible from the saddle, the highest point along the route.

This was one of the most scenic hikes I’ve ever been on. I saw Bighorn sheep, pictographs, and an amazingly colorful assortment of rocks (on the west side of White Mtn).

Most definitely worth visiting.

I was traveling in a group, and we had to stop in Gila Bend due to exhaustion. The guy who got the rooms was totally immature and clueless… but he had his mom’s credit card and decided to get us situated in what had to be the most expensive motel in the whole town.

It was nice, but I wouldn’t call it “space age.” But this photo made me laugh at the memory.

I travel the Southwest often and it usually involves a drive through Gila Bend. The Space Age Lodge always brings a smile to my face.

I love Cole’s Mtn and I climb it several times a month. Except that the last time I went (last Friday), my truck got broken into while I was on the hill. They took very little and didn’t damage my vehicle, but right now my enthusiasm for Mission Trails is a little dampened.

I see myself going to Cedar Creek a lot more in the near future…
