Holiday Inn on Orchard, Bread Talk, sweating already, bus to Katong for Laksa — 47/328 — bus back, admire houses, now really sweating, head for aircon in Taks, shopping, Kinu, quick stop in Crystal Jade, feel like you’re going to explode, more shopping, kaya toast and boba, explode again, bus to Serangoon Gardens and dinner at Chomp Chomp (ten mins staring people until they leave so you can have their table), back to Orchard, sit on wall and watch SPGs, back to hotel to catch NBA.

My local coffee joint

My advice is to skip RTC completely and go the extra couple of blocks to Victor’s Coffee Company, which to me is the real heart of Redmond. Wonderful little place, awesome hot chocolate, great staff, lots of character.

A quick tour

Shawlands Cross, ignore the sengas at the back of the 38, Bridge Street to Hillhead, wave at Remo, Tinderbox for white hot chocolate, dodge traffic, Lilybank Gardens, feet up, watch Freshers, a can in the QM, back to town via Uisge Beatha, ten minute wait for the glass elevator at the UGC, ribs, noodles and tea at Canton Express, ignore the sengas at the back of the late-night 57, Shawlands Cross.
