So, I moved to A-town for college. I applied, packed my car and drove from San Diego, CA to this small place, days away from anything or anyone I knew. When I got here, I hated it, I didn’t know anyone, didn’t know anything about the place, all I knew was that I had to leave, to anywhere. My chance to leave came of our winter break, I flew to Michigan to see family I hadn’t seen in years. However, as soon as we started to roll down the runway, I wanted off the plane. I landed in MI and all I wanted to do was get back on a plane and come back. I rode out the holidays, by checking the weather for A-town every chance I got. As my folks drove me back to the airport, I faught oh so hard to suppress my glee of leaing MI and comimg back to teh 49th state. As we came over the Chugach mountians, and I could see the lights in the distance of what could only be Anchorage, I knew I was finally HOME! I haven’t called anywhere home in years, I have been quick to leave when I get a sudden urge, but as we flew over the city and the university came into definable sight, I looked and saw my home and knew that no matter what happened, what was going on in the world, anything, I would be alright if I was in Alaska. If you haven’t been to AK, come, stop in A-town enjoy it, because once you get on that plane, you’re gonna want to turn back too.over 7 years ago
