African Lion Safari, Flamborough

Very Cool!

I went for my birthday – and it was an awesome trip! The animals are very VERY well cared for. The environments, which you drive through (or ride on the bus)… are spacious, and its cool to have the big cats walk up to your car and peek in the window… Its cool to have the baboons hopping from one car to the next (be careful of damage to your car if you’re one of them who likes to break the rules and feed these guys…)

the Ostriches were a kick! just – everything about the drive through park was awesome.

Definately a place to return to! An entire day’s worth of just great fun!

Provincetown, Cape Cod National Seashore

Camping

I went to Ptown to go whale watching for my birthday. We stayed at Dune’s Edge Campground which was really nice and only about 15 – 20 minutes walk to city center. Went Whale watching with Dolphin Fleet, went to Pilgrams Monument (Provincetown was the first stop for the Mayflower before continuing on to Plymouth), walked around the cemetary, did the shops, walked along the beach and in the water – but had not allowed enough time to make it to the light house. There was not enough time to do everything that could be done, and I’d really like to walk all they way out to the tip of the cape so I do expect to go back. It was a wonderful adventure.

For excellent Omeletes go to Governor Bradford and the Post Office Cafe. For dinner – absolutely try the Lobster Pot.

Frederick Douglas Gravesite, Mount Hope Cemetery

Living History

Mount Hope Cemetery has regular historical/theatrical performances where you can go and meet the people and personalities buried at the cemetery. The performance they do called “Circle of Friends” includes Frederick Douglas and his family, Susan B. Anthony and all of their contemporaries – discussing the issues of the day.

Awesome experience!
