Mighty O Donuts

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

Finally made it to this local destination AND got to meet up with one of my favorite peeps on 43peoplecom ! The donuts were tasty~ Carm and I shared a yummy raspberry & then each had a pumpkin donut with our tea. Fried foods tend to “come back” at me,awhile after eating.(I know TMI) I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t experience that with these donuts. It must have something to do with the fact that they’re vegan or something ?

Galeries Lafayette

A tip I have about this place

In the evening take the elevator to the top floor then climb the stairwell to the rooftop. You will be awestruck by the view of the “City Of Lights”. Wish I had been more familiar with my camera settings at the time.
Galeries Lafayette is a throwback to the golden age of department stores when people would actually “dress-up” to spend the day shopping and out to lunch!
The domed ceiling is a work of art!

Jungle Cruise

"Oh Wow..

what an Adventure” that’s what I remember the guide saying with not very much enthusiasm ~ He was probably sick of saying it 500 times a day!

Aix en Provence

Why I want to go to this place

I read Perfume from Provence years ago which piqued my interest in the area. And I want to stand amid the rolling hills of lavender and inhale the intoxicating scent !

Times Square

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

We stayed a the Casablanca Hotel. The second time we visited New York, we stayed here again! It’s a boutique hotel with a theme from the movie Casablanca. Centrally located and breakfast included with stay as well as nightly complimentary wine & hor d’oeuvres !

Dry Soda Co.

Worth visiting!

The first time I drank Dry Soda...

was at Tom Douglas’ Palace Kitchen last year. It was the Rhubarb flavor~ a wee bit sweeter than I would have liked but at least without high fructose corn syrup. I would have preferred it to be more tart like Rhubarb really is! I made of point of stopping by yesterday with a friend after touring the NPA Open Gardens but was disappointed that it was closed. I’ll have to go back soon to the tasting room. I want to try the lemongrass soda.

Bothell

Worth visiting!

I have been driving to Bothell..

on a daily basis this week. My in laws are 92 and this is where they live. Looks like I’ll be spending more & more of my time up while we help them transition into the next phase of their life. (driving is no longer an option for them) I remember the sign that was mentioned in a previous entry , it was funny when some mischievous kids painted over the Bot so that the sign said ‘Welcome to hell, for a day or a lifetime” :- )
I like the quirky life sized plywood cutouts of local merchants on Main Street and the colourful banners on the electrical poles.
