Boston

Worth visiting!

Was here solely b/c of the Airport...

The first and the last I see of US when going too and from US is this in Boston situated Airport. The car ride out of town a.w.a. into town and to the Airport was a tough one. Much road work in progress in 2000 and also in 2002 when I was there the last time. Seems like a busy city… almost too busy I’d say. Would want to go there again as I now know people in US, and I’ll have to go there via Boston Airport. Never actualy spend any time in the city itself, so I won’t say anythying bad about it, other than it does look like a conglomerate of many architechtonial styles mixed and scattered around in a strange pattern. Could be a very nice city after all despite it’s overall looks though I wouldn’t call it a pretty city – not from what can be seen from the Airport to Cape Cod route anyways…
The band called “Boston” – that’s another matter – I love them boyz’ old tunes! :-)

London

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

.. was in my last year of elementary school, which – Oh my God! – is more than 30 years ago!! :-O

London was absolutely worth visiting back then and I suppose it is today as well. Saw most of the classic sites to see like Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, Hyde Park, Madame Toussaux’s Wax Museum, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Downing Street 10, etc..
Almost got lost one day when all by myself I was looking for a record shop and ended up many miles outside central London.

Went to local pub’s and got my first half&half which kinda multiplied themselfes during the evening(s).. BUUUURPLOL. I guess that’s how it was back then in the flower-power days of the early 1970’ies :-)
Have to mention that I hardly drink any alcohol nowadays. I’d always prefer experiencing life just as it is, rather than go around in a mist “looking happy” trying to escape the bad things and thereby maybe missing out on the good parts…

Too flat 4 me (but you can get high there - legaly!!! :-O ;-)

Ha-ha! :-)
Yeah, well…. I’m not into flat countries like Belgium and The Netherlands. I lack the perspective of looking at hillsides and also wondering what it will be like when passing the next hill.

Hummm…. as there aren’t (m)any hills there, then – well, it’s not for me I’m afraid. If I want to get ‘stoned’, I would chose a place with rocks :() ;)

Passing through going South....

.. that’s about it – sorry! This most certainly shouldn’t keep you from visiting. I’m sure there is lots to see and experience in Belgium.

Once upon a time.....

while on family trips to Italy in my early teen’s we went through a snowy Switzerland by car. I don’t remember anything as it’s been ages ago.. sorry. On the other hand. Had it been bad I think I would have remembered why, so by all means – go there! :-)

Worth visiting!

.. I almost don't remember..

- but we went through this Alpian country a few times. It’s more than 30 years ago, but whenever the Brenner Tunnel inlet to Italy was blocked by either to much traffic or ditto snow, we went through Austria instead.

So… yes … ha-ha – this is just to tell you gize (did anyone say to brag?? ;) that I’ve also been to this country :)

Worth visiting!

It's been ages ago...

.. since I visited Italy. I went there 3 times or so during the 70’ies and early 80’ies by car with my family (mom, dad and kid bro). Don’t remember much besides the sound of these singing bugs (singing like locust’s) that sounded their sounds all day long and almost all night too. Whenever I hear the sound today, I get to think of Italy and the family travels back then…

Dejá Vue!

My cousin got married to a beautiful Spanish woman, and we as family was invited. Great party – and a great idea as they had their 25’th Anniversary party a few years ago and still get along well, living in Denmark which they have been doing ever since.
At the wedding party at the Hotel America my kid bro, the groom’s kid bro and I went outside for some fresh air. We got into the parking space and I suddently remembered having seen these blue plastic made roofs over each car park before!! Hummm…...?? I ended up in telling my two companions about this dream I had and they both laughed at me. Well, on the other hand I’m very sure I once dreamt this, as a few other incidents accourring during this event also made me say “Deja Vue”. I had some pictures in my head with unknown persons on them in my head, and by seeing it again live, I could place a name on most of these unknown persons in my head. Yeah, I know – it’s strange. You have to have had the experience to ‘fully’ understand how this felt/feels.

I’ve been to Spain several times in my younger days. We drove by car my mom and dad and my kid brother and me, but I’ve only been to Spain once on my own. It was when on a motorcycle trip with my fiance in the mid 1980’ies heading for Portugal – which we didn’t reach because of a breakdown in Germany. We ended up leaving a Spanish camp site because the rain was said to be pouring down the next day. We left for France and stayed at a camping site near Nice for 3-4 days and then headed for home – for Denmark.
Spain is nice, but you have to go places with less tourists to really be able to enjoy a trip to this Mediterranean country.

In and out just to get toll free merchandize :-)

Went there for a few hours while on tour to France and Spain almost 20 years ago. It was and I suppose still is a beautiful little place on Earth… and cheap too (it’s a Toll Free Area :-)

Nice... and not so nice - in Nice *ha-ha*

If you don’t speak even a tiny little bit French, you could be in trouble getting understood by people if you go places that are a bit off of the big cities and into the countryside areas. That’s how it was for me some 15-20 years ago. Today however, I believe it shouldn’t be a problem, but you never know with them French people… :o ;)
