My first trip to Mexico was to Mazatlan in 1999. It was warm right when we got off the plane, like a jungle compared to my cold hometown. There were people everywhere, from the airport to the city, things were busy. I can’t remember what hotel we stayed in but it was great, a restaurant, bar in the pool, right on the beach. You could spend days on that beach I swear, awesome. My only complaint about Mazatlan would be that the public streets and beaches were so dirty and littered. But for the most part Mazatlan was beautiful.
