The first and only place (so far) I’ve ever seen the Green Flash (the astronomical phenomenon, not the superhero).

Unless you get around to some crazy secret backcountry spots, this is honestly the single most incredible hike you’ll ever take in a US national park, or maybe anywhere. The approach, the view, the oh-my-godness—this place is probably more worth visiting than anywhere else I can recommend.

Simply the most remarkable and fascinating displays of ancient life you will ever see.

Outstanding fossil park and signs for same. Nice proximity to Minnesota, too.
