A fascinating city — 3 years ago
It’s a absolutely fascinating city filled with lovely people. As a city, Belgrade have been through 114 major international wars, mostly between Austria/hungary and Turkey. The Belgrade inhabitants always party like there is no tomorrow, because maybe there isn’t. We asked them: “Do you think there will be another war?” “Yes, there is always another war”. Despite that, or maybe just because of that, everyone was absolutely lovely and always seem to have time for each other.
I must admit I was a little bit concerned because “they were on the evil side of the war” but I found out that one hundred thousand men refused to go out in the war and consequently made deserters of themselves. It was so many that the government didn’t press charges because it would have been practically impossible to court martial 100000 men.
Anyway, just loved the place. Go visit it, it’s well worth it.
