Sweden

I’m sitting in my hotel room in Linköping using their free internet access! It’s the end of day 2 in Sweden and I love it.

The bag is packed (6kg of technology and 0.5kg of clothes!)
Airport parking booked
Phrase book found
Kronor in hand
Bus and train timetables consulted

Both travellers overly excited…

I’ve ordered my Kronor, but still need to dig out the phrase book. I don’t think I’ll learn Swedish in the next 10 days, but if I can just learn a couple of phrases, it might help (if only so they can laugh at my funny accent!)

I will get to try out the railways, and meet some technogeeks, and stay in a nice hotel with a Scandinavian buffet breakfast. I hope there’s not too much fish involved, but I’ll try it if it’s there!

Definitely looking forward to this experience…

Only 18 days to go. Maybe I should think about changing some money. The post office always has Euros in stock, but I might have to order Kronor especially.

I’ll be going for a weekend in August. If that works out, I can forsee a longer visit enroute to NordKapp in the future.
