We first stopped at the saltmines in near by Hallein, which was terrific! We did not get to lick the walls, however you could taste the water with a 27% salt content, compared to the ocean with 3%. You will also be outfitted with a white suit to protect your clothes… you might feel like you are wearing a straight jacket or gained 50 Lbs. The cost for 2 adults was 33€.
Something to think about is the mountain’s pressure is closing in 1/2 an inch each year & will be too narrow in 100 years to enter. So get there quick if you would like to experience this!
After that stop at the grocery store Interspar for lunch (you cannot miss it) and it is very intergalactic with insane amounts of selection. While you are there get some of the famed mozartkugeln candies.
Head over to Salzburg for a very romantic stroll through the city. I expected it to be much smaller than it was. It is a beautiful city with a lot to see. Be sure to check out the little narrow walkways! You will be amazed how they open up into large court yards or small unique shops.
