We went for Carnaval and had a great time. Excellent food, cheap beer, and a great vibe. I miss the sun and warmth already.
Be sure to take a boat tour of La Restinga, eat some whole fish on the beach, and spend some time in Pampatar, La Asuncion, and the other smaller towns. Playa El Agua is beautiful, but full of tourists. Most other places, we were the only gringos around.
