OMG SEATTLE PEOPEL ARE WEIRD I SAW IT ON AMERICAN IDOL LOL!

News: Electric Heavyland in Wallingford is closing for good on January 1st, 2007  — 1 year ago

The store is closing on January 1st, 2007, so get in your deals while you can.

Thankfully, the folks behind the store are going to continue the label Enterruption, so you can still expect a lot of noise to stick around the city—one would hope the third annual Wooden Octopus Skull Pfestival in 2007.

[Excuse the meta-tech geekiness here, but I’ve been so happy with the appropriateness of the 43 Places ID number tag for Electric Heavyland being ”666500”]

News: Gorditos in Upper Queen Anne is closing Dec 23rd, 2006.  — 1 year ago

I just saw the sign tonight. :(

They just opened up a location in Everett. The Greenwood one is doing fine. The owners will just be running those two from now on.

Discussion: Bumbershoot  — 1 year ago

So does anybody have any blueprints or war plans for this weekend?

Given the busy September, I’m trying to take it easy for Bumbershoot this time around, yet I’m realizing there is so much I want to see, now that it’s right in front of me.

Anyone seen Blondie, Kanye, or ATCQ lately? Does anyone want to give a thumbs-up, thumbs-down to each and sum up why you’d give the rating?

I’m very familiar with all three’s work, but have never seen them live. At the same time, there are other things I’d rather do this weekend than wake up early and try to get wristbands three days in a row.

Question: So, is this group's main focus to discuss events for which we -- the Seattle Action group members -- could/should attend to help break the ice among us, make new friends, etc.?  — 1 year ago

..or is this meant to be more general.. to try to persuade people to go out to events he/she may not have thought of attending?

September is going to be a sleepless month here even just limited to concerts. Here’s a cursory list of artists playing shows in September alone:

  • Bumbershoot artists o’plenty
  • Radio Birdman
  • Devo
  • Melvins/Big Business
  • Nomeansno
  • Mission Of Burma
  • Scratch Acid (all orig. members)
  • Dandy Warhols/Brian Jonestown Massacre
  • the Wooden Octopus Skull festival feat. Acid Mothers Temple, Ruins, Wolf Eyes, etc.
  • the Decibel Festival feat. Speedy J, Bola, Funckarma, etc.

...and this is just until the 17th of this month.

Question: What's the difference between this group and Seattle Locals?  — 1 year ago

I’m guessing this is more for discussion than the normal entry log that makes up Seattle Locals?

News: The (O.G.) Monorail is back in action as of yesterday  — 1 year ago

Yes, we actually had one once!

1200!  — 2 years ago

(Sorry. Just wanted to celebrate that Seattle has reached the much coveted “1200 people want to visit” goal, that’s all.)

mackro has gotten 0 cheers on this trip.
