We actually moved to Louisville about a year and a half ago and even started keeping a blog on it called The Pauleys Go to Louisville (I’m a YA writer, hence the title…which probably no one gets but oh welll…...). It’s at http://go2louisville.blogspot.com
It’s been an experience—but mostly a good one. The local restaurant scene here is actually really great. A lot of independents (like the Louisville Originals) and Keep Louisville Weird is a slogan I can definitely get behind.
We live in Old Louisville and also keep a safety blog for the neighborhood at http://oldlouwatch.blogspot.com Lately crime seems to be up again, which sucks, but it always seems to spike around this time of year (Aug) when U of L is starting up again.
The best part about Old Lou is definitely the houses though. I love our big old house. This house in Florida (where we moved from) would be completely unattainable. Well, shoot, if it even existed down there, which it doesn’t.
Anyway, if you’re visiting and need some advice or what not, feel free to ask. And if you live here and want some dinner partners, we’re always open. ;-) I’m a writer and my husband is a bourbon-fanatic (which he someday hopes to do for a living, but right now he’s an actuary turned software designer for his company).
