A tip I have about this place — 1 year ago
Russia was amazing: I went in winter and it was everthing you have heared anyone ever say about the place: cold (obviously, in winter) grey, grand, bold, proud, broken, drunken…..a mind changing experience. I saw st petes and moscow, and spent newyears in red square. I recommend using “beetroot backpackers”, as they picked us up from where ever we arrived in the country (a little bus station after a highly memerable 11 hour bus trip from Tallin, Estonia: ambulance stop for a diabetic who had gone into fits, heating so bad you could loose extremties without care…..)organised visas and train travel between st petes and moscow, but left us to do our own thing during our stay.
