I studied at the University of Stuttgart for a year and found out that I could, indeed, live in a city (as opposed to a smaller town). Stuttgart is not the most picturesque of European cities, but it offers good cultural experiences, from more refined pursuits like visiting museums to more stereotypical activities like the Weindorf or Canstatter Volksfest.
