I think I'll try again today. Anyone game on meeting me?  — 2 years ago

I’ll stop at the truck stops at I-16 or A-Z Truckstop south of statesboro along the way.

I have been corresponding with a couple of people  — 2 years ago

These people live near T.R. or in the same county. We are corresponding concerning my research into T.R. and its people.

We approached this time from the southwest  — 2 years ago

And came as close I think, as a place in Screven which had a Confederate Railroad Line, with a marker to commemorate the Confederate defense against Sherman. The place is called Oliver.

So now I think I’ve just about “boxed” the Tiger Ridge. I just need to get closer to the Savannah River, if I can. I’m taking my .387 next time, but keeping as far from trouble as I can manage.

A question about this place:
Tell us your own story of growing up here, or living here. What is the origin of this community and its name?  — 3 years ago
I have heard a stories by local people about this hidden place  — 3 years ago

There are no signs to Tiger Ridge. There is no tourism council, or welcome centre, unless you count the local law enforcement, which will throw you into jail just for making fun of the people.

The word is that everyone here is too closely related. I’m just saying what I hear. And they know of their reputation, and feel very defensive about it.

The best description of where it is, is somewhere between Savannah and Pembroke. I-16 runs through it or by it. Ellabell is close. I just don’t know exactly how to get there. Also, I’ve heard that one should be cautious when approaching or going by it.
