I lived in Zürich from 2002 to 2003 while studying at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich. Despite having only about 300000 inhabitants, Zürich is a true metropolis bustling with life from dawn til dusk. Still you can get to hiking and biking trails in a few minutes from everywhere in the city.
Public transportation is very effective in Zürich (like everywhere in Switzerland), you can get everywhere without a car. And still the Swiss have the highest car density in the whole Europe…
