Visit San Francisco... Properly. — 3 years ago
I’ve actually been to San Francisco.
My husband and I drove down in June 1994 in his ‘86 blue Acura Integra with no air conditioning in the blazing heat of summer and all the windows had to be closed to conserve gas. We went to a convention with friends, hung out with said friends, and didn’t do much else. Drove 2 days, stayed 2 days, drove back for 2 days. And that was our week.
ETA: Reading this over again, that last paragraph looks snarky… it wasn’t meant to be. The entire purpose of that trip was to see my friends and go to the convention. And I had a GRAND time. We were po’ at the time… well, we kinda still are. But anyway, we couldn’t afford to fly down then and we could only afford to take one week off at the end of the school year before summer classes began.
I’d like to fly down so we don’t waste time driving. I think we’d stay at least a week. List of things to do/see:
- Alcatraz (I’ve wanted that “Alcatraz Run-Dig-Swim Triathlon Team” t-shirt for a long time)
- Japanese tea garden
- Lombard Street
- Golden Gate Park
- California Academy of Sciences
- Fisherman’s Wharf
And somewhere in there, I need to meet up with a few friends. I’d be clod beaten if I went all the way down there and didn’t see them. =)
