and i backpacked it . . . there are a couple of campsites with dorm rooms right on the beach, in the middle of everything, facing west so you can watch the amazing sunsets. The polynesians are really nice people, and the island is perfect for a laid back holiday, with enough to do if you want to get off the beach and do something else!
