Nice beaches, but it is one of the more expensive areas of Thailand. The traces of Tsunami are almost gone, and the area is back in buisness for backpackers. Hat Patong is a little ‘seedy’ for me, and Hat Karon was a little too ‘resorty’, but Hat Kata was a nice pace… things to do at night, nice beach, and reasonable priced.
