News: Café Presse  — 1 year ago

This is going to be on the right side of that little white garage we’ve passed by a couple times. Looks like it’s going to open late fall, early winter. From the recent article, it looks like it could easily become the new official robot co-op hangout.

News: Umi Sake House  — 1 year ago

Umi Sake House just opened a weekend ago. It’s a strange place… it’s tasty, but also over the top, and it lives in Belltown weird social scene. But an indoor atrium that feels outdoors, and 50 kinds of sake, and a tatami room with bamboo floors, and tasty food… definitely worth checking out!

Question: What's happening this weekend?  — 1 year ago

New people: comment on this post if you’d like to be added to the group. The only requiremend is that you live in Seattle and want to know when and where the fun things are happening.

I know there’s Josh’s BBQ if it’s sunny, but what else is going on this weekend? Is anyone keeping track of what’s going on at the Seattle Center?

News: Lark's baby brother  — 1 year ago

I’m excited to check out the new Licorous, next door to Lark. Daniel says it’s opening next week sometime… does anyone know an exact date?

Question: Want to try out our new groups feature?  — 1 year ago

One of the many new changes on 43 Places is a new group feature. It’s basically a discussion board centered around a place. You can post entries, ask questions, start discussions, and recommend things to the people in your group.

Find your city or neighborhood, create or join a couple groups, and let us know what you think! I’m excited to see how this feature evolves.

My favorite city in the country.  — 3 years ago

I moved here in 1995 and went on a long roadtrip across the country when I graduated college looking for a new place to live. Other than New York City, which I still want to move to at some point, I think Seattle is the best city in the country, for its mixture of nature, technology, music, aesthetic, laid-back-ed-ness, and being just the right size (the good bands hit us on their tours, but you can still walk to work).
