Wales has by far the most beautiful and unearthly terrain I’ve ever seen. Snowdonia is undescribable. The landscape looks like something from the video game Shadow of the Collossus. And most anyone you meet will swear the Welsh are a different race from the English. Went to Cardiff and Fishguard, took a ferry to Ireland, came back to Holyhead. From there went to Bangor, Llandudno, Conwy, and all through Snowdonia. I rappelled off Penrhyn Castle and did some work chopping down and burning rhododendrons in Snowdonia. Rhododendrons aren’t a native species and basically cause havoc and destruction to the environment because Wales has the ideal climate for them. Drove through little villages all named after happenings in legends from long ago. In the valleys and tucked-away hamlets of northern Wales myth is regarded as truth. And if you saw the landscape and learned the region’s history a bit you’d see what I mean.
