Amsterdam

Amsterdam is everything I expected and nothing I expected. I knew it had weed and sex shows, but amazing artworks and cool canals. What I didn’t know was just how small it is, how pretty it is, how scary it is having bicycles and trams come at you from all directions, how relaxed it is, or how many times I would get lost and confused here.

I have wanted to go here for a long time and have finally booked a ticket for September. Just 3 nights in Amsterdam itself, and 2 nights with my friend in Wageningen. I hope to avoid the pot haze and see the artworks, bicycles canals and general life. Part of my jaunt through Europe on my way home to Australia. Gotta love round-the-world tickets :)
